Great Combo...that said, the iCade is a tad overpriced for this handsome hebrew.
hebrew? stating something is overpriced? living up to the stereotype much?
just kidding :)
i bought the whole suite when i saw it announced on gizmodo this morning.

I don't really care about the Apple TV - its not something I see myself using at this point.
I like the iPhone, though I think its a tad pricey, but I wouldn't be in the market for one before early next year, anyway. I might consider getting one at that point.
I was disappointed that there was nothing for the Mac! I wanted to see iLife and iWork '07 and more importantly, hear/see some information about Leopard!

I wanted very much to buy an iPad 2. But after seeing the dismal display and camera quality in person, and the fact that it didn't offer anything new or exciting over the iPad 1, I decided to wait for the Android tablets to hit in force and compare them to iPad 3.
What is the reasoning behind this attitude? Is this just a toy purchase? How can you have a "need" for a device that apparently doesn't exist? And then, what happens with your needs until then?
I can just see the people on this forum, if they had been alive in 1975:
"I need a phone that I can carry with me all the time. Nobody makes one! Guess I'll just never call anybody for the next 10 years."

I think they will use the new 256-Bit advanced vector extensions (256-Bit AVX) of the Sandy Bridge processors. It makes sense, because GPU-based solutions like Badaboom do not reach the same quality as CPU-based solutions. The AVX are ideal for video codecs, filters an so on.
Yeah, that means we will see new Pro hardware from Apple "early next year". And no, you will not see LP in Macs until 2015.

Really? Have you read the thread? This is far from the only argument given to get rid of the death penalty.
Yes, and they're all just bleeding heart emotional responses, and i don't buy into that crap. Sorry, but my opinion on this isn't changing. Funny, the polls say non-religious people between the age of 18-29 are most likely to support the death penalty, and that's exactly where i fit.

I welcome this feature.
People want a layout with usability, not a design that looks just so. Still, both are easy to achieve if your skilled.
I always surf with my text zoomed at least one level which is available on every browser - this messes up more wabpages than it should. Some of my favorite websites have comment textareas with 3-4 lines of text and are as few as 20 characters wide. I always end up writing in Pages and copying into the textarea.

Eventually, they will meet in the middle and we will have either 2 similar operating systems or simply a mix of the two.
I think Apple thinks that by taking the best of the two worlds they are creating a "better" user experience. I don't know if this is the case but I think that this is clearly the inevitable long-term outcome. Time will tell.
If anyone can do it, Apple's the company. They'll take their time, refine it, make it useful, get hardware support, etc.
So far, Microsoft's idea of touchscreen is "the finger tells the cursor where to go". Or HP overlays some terrible "Front Row"ish interface on TOP of Windows.
This is probably at least 3-5 years away if at all. I'm imagining an updated second-gen iMac (sunflower style), with a big iPad-ish display that can go up down, close, far, etc. OS X with mouse when it's far, switches to a touch-optimized view when you bring it close. Or something. My imagination is probably too "inside the box" for this sort of thing.

Can't decide between here with the easy parking but longer queues or the many shops of middlesbrough and being stuck in town at hours I'd rather not.
Was quite handy for the 3G launch

sounds like good news to me. not really big features, but features nonetheless.
looking forward to more new features from Leopard:cool:
Features for the sake of features does not impress me. Unless there is some hidden bombshell of a feature in Leopard it's looking more and more likely I won't be upgrading. I'm still holding out hope for a bombshell at MWSF this January. Vista will be all but released. Apple's excuses for not announcing will have dried up and it will be put up or shut up time. Come on jobs put your code where your mouth is.

Well the SSD models aren't available yet.
And they have torn down the models already to tell us it has a z68 chipset.
Therefore it's not only on the SSD models.

Does the Apple Store carry any cases for the 4th generation iPod Touch?
I stopped by my local Apple store yesterday and asked that question and was told that they will not have any 4th gen cases this month. :(

You need to ask yourselves a questions: How these stores operating? and Why products end up there?
Apparently, some authorized retailers overstock iPads or could not move projected volume, so they dumped some unsold inventory to Marshalls and TJMax, just to get some cash back, quick.
Overstocked with iPads??? Not a good news for Steve.
What is the issue here? iPads are sold in Walmart and Target and nobody complains.
I think the biggest issue with it comes from the actual Apple authorized retailers. For instance, in my line of work (golf course management), I purchase golf equipment directly from the manufacturers (Callaway Golf, Nike, Titleist, etc). To be able to do that, I HAVE to agree to a minimum advertised pricing (MAP) policy, or I can't buy directly from them nor be listed as a retailer of that company's products (any retailer buying from directly from the manufacturer has to abide by this). If I then saw a major retailer (a competitor) advertising products that I sell for significantly lower than I am allowed to (knowing that all official retailers are supposed to be bound by this agreement to even sell the products as an "authorized retailer"), then I'm going to be pretty upset as to why I have to abide by it to get my goods, when either they (the competitor discounting said merchandise) aren't, or either they are getting a cheaper price (allowing them to sell for a lower price than me, yet still keep similar profit margins). And if they are in violation of this MAP policy, I'm going to damn sure be wondering why the manufacturer (in the iPad case...Apple), isn't going after them (telling them to stop, if they are an authorized retailer), or pulling their account. In the golf business, the manufacturers go hard after companies that violate this MAP policy.

Rule # 1 of slickdeals, never call (or email in this case).
Wait, what forum is this?
As someone whom runs a store that has been "slickdeal"'d in the past, and as a frequent member, I know what kind of volume that (and the 100s of other websites that posted this deal) can generate. I am sure more the 10 million people had the potential to see this deal, and bought these iPads. You have no worries. They are gone and not coming back in stock at those store. You missed out.
